US Woman to Compete in World Welding Competition

The Welding Wall: Breaking Down Barriers in Skilled Trades Mikala Sposito, a community college student from Michigan, will become the first woman to represent the United States at the WorldSkills Competition in China.

This achievement has reignited debate about women's participation in skilled trades.

Sposito studied at Washtenaw Community College (WCC), which has produced more WorldSkills welding alumni than any other institution in the country.
