The latest derailment near Wickford railway station in Essex has raised fresh concerns about the resilience of Britain’s rail network. The incident comes just 24 hours after a similar derailment in East Sussex left two people seriously injured.

According to eyewitnesses, the rear carriages of the train derailed “in an upright position” at Wickford station without causing any reported injuries. However, major disruption is expected to continue until further notice.
